1 post · Joined 2017. #24 · May 1, 2017. I also live on a hill with a steep drive, and I also hate Hill start assist, it makes it very difficult to manouevre in a tight space on a hill by gently controlling the brake pressure. I have finally found out how to inihibit it working on my Venga.
That hill start assist message pops up occasionally if you are on uneven or loose ground on startup. It may not mean anything in the first place, or like someone said before could be because of an OBD reader. I've seen it once or twice and then it went away later with no changes or repairs.
Need help turning off hill start assist. I've tried following the steps in the manuals but I can't seem to get it working. The instructions aren't very easy to understand.
